About

With a background in government and nonprofit leadership, as well as in the private sector, I have a unique blend of experience that I bring to every client. Whether working with Presidents or playground coaches, mayors or middle school mentors, my goal is to help my clients identify, refine and achieve their goals.

It is Fall 2021, and I am cautiously optimistic. As a nation, we are adjusting to a “new normal” that has allowed our kids to go back to school, small businesses to reopen, and families to gather again. The new normal also includes some uncertainty and trepidation about issues that confront us every day: climate change, voting rights, reproductive rights, racial equity, and economic mobility, to name just a few. It’s a lot.

While the last 18 months have been exhausting and scary, they have also given us an opportunity to reimagine our lives and our work, to be creative, and to find and connect with new allies. I am guided by the quote that you “never want a serious crisis to go to waste. It’s an opportunity to do things that you think you could not do before.” If the myriad health, political and social events of the past 18 months - as painful as they have been - have had one positive outcome, it is this: if there is a will, there is a way. Working together, we’ve got this.

Working with nonprofits Many nonprofits are now asking themselves, “What difference are we making? Are we organized for success? Are funders excited about our work? Do we have the right leadership team in place? Is our board diverse and engaged in the right ways? Are we leading or being left behind?”

Working with foundations
The philanthropic community is also asking itself, “Where can we make the greatest difference? Are traditional approaches and long-standing grantees getting the work done, or are new tools, directions, and partners needed? Is it time to develop or strengthen collaborations with businesses, the nonprofit community, or other foundations for greater efficiency or effectiveness? Do we have the right leadership team in place? Are we leading or being left behind?”

Working closely with your organization, I can make sure that you are leading, not being left behind.
